Kaouk: March 14 threw themselves and Lebanon in Syrian war
Deputy Chairman of the Executive Council of Hezbollah Sheikh Nabil Kaouk accused March 14 of throwing themselves and Lebanon in the raging Syrian war. He added that they undermined the LAF’s border control mission. “They want the LAF to be a conduit for the infiltration of insurgents; they pressured the army to stop controlling the borders”, he said.

During a commemorative celebration in the town of Qana, Kaouk said that the holders of slogans of sovereignty and Lebanon’s disassociation are facilitating the sovereignty breaches and the infiltration of gunmen. “They are paving the way for interferences and dragging Lebanon to the Syrian swamp”, he said.

Kaouk called for putting an end to “national and ethical sins”, assuring that he is keen on political stability and security.

On Syria, Kaouk said that there are Arab foreign ministers who are calling for arming the Syrian opposition and publicly hampering the mission of U.N.-Arab League envoy Kofi Annan. “The main goal is not the protection of Syrian civilians, but the protection of gunmen to continue changing Syria’s position, role and identity in the region and in the conflict with Israel”, he said.
