Rai: Christianity has taught us to reject all sort of violence

Maronite Patriarch Bshara Rai called on Sunday on all political parties and leaders in Lebanon and the region to reject all forms of violence, adding that in such periods “sustainable reconciliation” among the Lebanese is highly needed.

On the occasion of the Feast of the Annunciation of the Blessed Virgin Mary and the first anniversary of his election, Rai said: “Christianity has taught us to reject any sort of violence and terrorism on our land and elsewhere”.

“We also reject any incitement to violence,” he stressed.

Rai added that division and political and religious differences are rejected by the Maronite church.
