Following the session, Salam stressed that Lebanon will always support the brotherly Arab nations, adding that the Cabinet agreed on the country’s commitment to Arab consensus over joint issues.
Salam also reiterated the Cabinet's statement, which affirms the policy of disassociation.
“Lebanon will not forget Saudi Arabia's support during the crises through which it had passed,” he added, emphasizing the need to to fix relations between the country and its brothers, and to remove any flaws that may have emerged in recent times.
On another note, he pointed out that he will head a ministerial committee to visit Gulf Cooperation Council states to reassure them of Beirut’s foreign policy which respects its ties with Arab nations.
During the session, Salam stressed that “Saudi Arabia owes Lebanon a lot,” adding that the situation today is serious.
Labor Minister Sejaan Azzi had previously told LBCI that the Cabinet unanimously approved the closing statement, including Hezbollah and Future Movement Ministers.
