Rai bound to Turkey
Maronite Patriarch Bshara Rai Thursday left Beirut and headed to Turkey in a pastoral visit. "Cooperation binds Turkey with Lebanon especially at the level of Turkish forces UNIFIL contingent," Rai said.

Speaking at the Beirut Airport, the Patriarch asserted that he is scheduled to tackle Maronite affairs in Cyprus in both Turkish and Northern sectors.

Representing Tourism Minister Michel Sleiman, Tourism Minister Fadi Abboud bid Rai farewell at the airport in presence of Turkey's Ambassador Inan Ozyildiz.

Pertaining to the Lebanese level, Rai passed on good wishes for the electricity-adopted Cabinet decision and said the country is in need of such events to escape stagnation, move forward, and have the country regain its economic, national, and developmental movement.

Rai also uttered hopes that the Bkerke spiritual summit would bear positive outcome on Lebanese politicians.
