Former PM Hariri marks 41st anniversary of Lebanese Civil War

On the 41st anniversary of the Lebanese Civil War, former Prime Minister said that he will not stop working in order to maintain civil peace.

In remarks he posted on his twitter account, Hariri reiterated that efforts will continue in a bid to prevent strife, stressing the need to hold on to the Taef Agreement, “which put an end to the war and restored Lebanon’s image as an example for coexistence and diversity in an increasingly isolated world.”

“We are certain that all leaders from all confessions and political alignments will not allow civil strife to re-erupt under any circumstance,” he added, stating that the destructive war experience has taught all the Lebanese the need to remain attached to the state and its institutions, “for it is the only path towards stability, security and decent life.”

On another note, Hariri said that ending the presidential vacuum as soon as possible will fortify civil peace.
