REPORT: Abou Faour says will refer letter to MOI over North Lebanon, Beirut Governors
Minister of Health Wael Abou Faour said on Wednesday that the governors of North Lebanon and Beirut approved the principle of federalism, adding that they “formed independent republics and they don’t implement the decisions of the Ministry of Health.”

Abou Faour’s comments were made during a press conference whereby he stressed that “no governor is entitled to stand against the decisions of the Ministry of Health.”

“I will refer a letter to the Ministry of Interior in this regard,” he added.

On another note, he also revealed that he sent letters to Minister of Interior Nouhad Machnouq to ask the municipalities of Bourj Hammoud, Haret Hreik, Beirut and Bourj al-Barajneh to stop issuing health licenses without carrying out the required tests.
