On the 37th anniversary of war, Mikati urges Lebanese to close ranks

PM Najib Mikati announced on Friday that the 37th anniversary of the Lebanese war “carries wounds in our memory that prompt us to urge all the Lebanese, no matter their affiliations, to [close ranks] in order to preserve Lebanon and steer it clear off wars and woes.”

Mikati said that the Lebanese should protect Lebanon against the repercussions of the regional events and steer clear off erroneous biddings.

The prime minister said that “only sincere and open cooperation between the Lebanese society’s different components can secure full and true national partnership and fortify the Lebanese state’s pillars.”
