Future bloc says election of a new president should be a top priority

The Future bloc members said on Tuesday that the election of a new president should be currently a top priority, adding that the drafting of a new electoral law should follow the election.

In a statement, the bloc called on the security apparatuses to speed up investigations to reveal the authors of the explosion that rocked Beirut and that targeted the HQ of BLOM Bank.

The members of the bloc also noted that “such a crime left dangerous and negative repercussions on the image of the economic and security situation of the country.”

The bloc also urged Hezbollah “to shoulder its national responsibilities and to reconsider its unilateral policy” which led to the party’s involvement in the war waged by the Syrian regime against its people and dragged Lebanon and the Lebanese people “into the midst of this devastating war. “
