Army raids Syrian refugee camp in Akkar

The Lebanese army staged Tuesday raids on the Syrian refugee encampment of al-Rayhanieh in Akkar.

It arrested several refugees and confiscated their motorbikes.

Separately, army units raided several areas in the Baalbek governorate, including the towns of Taybeh, Younin, Douris, Tal Al-Abyad and Al-Hamoudia. 103 Syrian nationals were detained and nine unlicensed motorbikes and cars that were in their possession were seized.

The arrestees and the confiscated items were referred to the competent authority.

These measures come one day after eight suicide bombings killed five and wounded over 30 people in the northeastern border village of al-Qaa.
