Kataeb party leader MP Sami Gemayel said Saturday that “the Central Security Council’s objection to the logic of self-security after al-Qaa terrorist attacks should either be applied equally upon all Lebanese or not applied to anyone.”
“How can the Central Security Council refuse the idea of self-security, at a time both the Interior Minister and Defense Minister had to pass Hezbollah controlled checkpoints to get to the town of al-Qaa without it being an issue?” he asked.
Gmayel explained that the bearing of arms should only be limited to the legitimate authority, while the military should bear its responsibilities in all villages, preventing everyone from taking up arms.
