State Minister for Development Affairs Nabil De Freij stressed Saturday that the Future Movement’s priority is the election of a new president and then the agreement over a new parliamentary electoral law, noting that this stance comes in defense of the first Christian position in the country.
In a statement to LBCI’s Nahrkom Said, De Freij said that Iran’s spokesperson in the region is Hezbollah, calling for direct relations between Iran and the Lebanese authorities rather than with a specific Lebanese party.
He stressed that Saudi Arabia has been supporting the Lebanese state since a long time and never limited its cooperation with one Lebanese party.
On another note, the minister said that the coup attempt in Turkey has failed, adding that this coup could have been planned by those harmed by the recent rapprochement between Russian President Vladimir Putin and his Turkish counterpart Recep Tayyib Erdogan.
