Interior and Municipalities Minister Nouhad al-Mashnouq sent a letter to his French counterpart Bernard Cazeneuve, expressing “his deep sorrow and regret over the violent and savage terrorist attack that struck the city of Nice on Thursday evening and that left at least 84 people dead and dozens injured.”
In his letter, al-Mashnouq stressed “the importance of continued close cooperation between the security apparatuses of both countries and the need to exchange intelligence regularly,” noting that “France and Lebanon must work together to fight this phenomenon of ferocious terrorism.”
“We must not back down but continue to defend our common values,” he added.
