Israeli military says Hezbollah cell targeted in Christian village in South Lebanon

The Israeli army said its forces killed members of a cell belonging to Hezbollah during an operation in a Christian village in South Lebanon.

According to a statement by Israeli military spokesman Avichay Adraee, troops from the 300th Brigade operating under the 146th Division are conducting activities in southern Lebanon as part of what the army described as a "forward defense operation."

During the activity, he said that Israeli forces detected what they described as a Hezbollah cell entering a site inside a Christian village in the region. The army said it then directed a fighter jet to strike the location, killing the members of the group.

The Israeli military claimed the presence of Hezbollah fighters inside the village was further evidence of what it described as the group's use of civilian infrastructure for military purposes.
