Free Patriotic Movement chief, Foreign Minister Gebran Bassil declared Monday that the FPM has around 58 potential projects for the parliamentary elections, stressing that the winners and losers of the party’s primary elections will work together “because the main goal is to achieve victory as a party since no one can achieve political triumph if standing alone.”
In a press conference held one day after the primaries, Bassil stressed that the political alliances are made on the leadership level, adding that the candidate has to abide by the decision made on the basis of the criteria required for the party’s victory.
The minister pointed out that the issue of the expelled members might be repeated, explaining that “anyone who commits to a political party has to be aware of the rules of procedure, based on which his future within the party is determined regardless of the past.”
“The elections showed that the number of the objectors is very small, and those who voted in favor of the coup merely make one percent,” he said, adding that he will not remain silent toward those who insult the party from within, calling on those who insist on following this path to resign.
