One army officer injured in Hoortaala clash – LAF command

The Lebanese Armed Forces Command declared that one army officer was slightly injured when troops intervened to control an armed clash that erupted on Friday night between residents of the Hourtaala town in Baalbek due to family disputes.

The army command issued a statement in this regard stating that the army unit came under fire when it intervened to restore security and stability and an officer was injured.

The army forces responded to the sources of fire and carried out raids, during which they arrested three people involved in the clash and seized light and medium weapons, ammunition and military equipment.

The statement added that calm was restored to the area, as an army patrol continues to chase all those involved in order to refer them to the concerned judiciary.
