News Intro for Friday 20-04-2012
An exceptional event occurred today during the cabinet meeting and was not placed on the agenda: “knafe” sweets were offered to all ministers and journalists to celebrate the confidence vote which has been granted by the parliament on Thursday night.

Beside this even no major decisions were taken during today’s meeting especially that the cabinet decided to keep the price of bread at L.L. 1,500 per pack.   On the Syrian file, the Arab League- United Nations peace envoy Kofi Annan revealed that the situation is “shaky” and that the ceasefire application is fragile.

Remarkably, the Lebanese Broadcasting Corporation International (LBCI) decided to break its silence as it issued a statement on Friday regarding the aggressive campaign organized by each of PAC, LMH and there motherly company Rotana Holding against LBCI.

The statement revealed that Rotana Company is adapting a well-organized attack to hit the Lebanese media sector, explaining that PAC’s latest stances refusing to pay their employees aims to weaken LBCI.

The statement added that these actions taken against LBCI coincide with the date of the Lebanese Forces lawsuit filed against the company and its CEO Pierre Daher
