Judge Hani al-Hajjar continued investigations with Sheikh Bassam al-Tarras, who has been detained by the Internal Security Forces Information branch.
The investigations focused on sources’ reports raising suspicions over possible relations and contacts with members from the Islamic State group.
The interrogations are expected to last until next Monday, where the appropriate legal procedure is expected to be taken against Sheikh al-Tarras.
Sources have said that Sheikh al-Tarras has not been very cooperative during the questioning.
Last month, former Mufti for Rashaya affairs Sheikh Bassam al-Tarras was briefly arrested over suspicion of his involvement in the bomb explosion that targeted the Ksara roundabout in Zahle, killing one woman and injuring several others.
