President Aoun declared that he will seek to maintain Lebanon’s independence and the safety of its territories, noting that “his main concern is to strengthen the capabilities of the Lebanese army, so that the military institution will be able to preserve the country’s sovereignty.
“Achieving security stability cannot be done without a complete coordination between the security and judicial institutions,” the president stated.
On the issue of the Syrian refugees, Aoun stressed the need to find a solution for the crisis as soon as possible through cooperation with the concerned countries and authorities and through coordination with the United Nations.
On the economic level, the president declared that “work shall kick off to implement an economic reform, since Lebanon cannot survive without a comprehensive economic plan,” announcing that the administrative decentralization must be an essential focus in the future.
“The most important part is that the president shall be guarantor of the country’s safety,” he said.
