Siniora to Health Minister: we did not accuse you of anything

In response to Health Minister Ali Hasan Khalil’s statement concerning Siniora’s remarks on delay in funding hospitals in Sidon and Beirut, former PM Fouad Siniora’s press office issued a statement on Sunday.

The office stressed that the health minister overreacted to the remarks which did not accuse him of anything.

According to the statement, Siniora confirmed that the cabinet has enough funds for the hospitals to meet their needs during the month of August, if the cabinet is intending to spend in accordance with the 2005 budget.

In addition to this, the office considered that the Health Minister’s statement about long-time financial problems accumulated in the ministry does not identify the perpetrator, adding “this does not fool anyone.” He added that the Lebanese people know very well who has been responsible for this problem for years.
