Mikati after meeting Berri: We discussed appointments and public spending

Speaker of the Parliament Nabih Berri met with Prime Minister Najib Mikati for about an hour and a half on Monday morning, in the presence of Minister of Public Health Ali Hassan Khalil.     

Following the meeting, when asked if they tackled administrative appointments, Mikati said “we discussed everything, mainly appointments and public spending”.       

Berri also received Energy and Water Minister Gibran Bassil and engaged with him in talks relevant to the general situation and the oil file.      

Former Deputy Adnan Araqji had also been to Ain-el-Tineh today for a meeting with the Speaker over the current general situation, particularly on the social and living levels.     

On the other hand, the Speaker congratulated in a cable the newly elected French President, Francois Hollande, hereby highlighting the importance of the Lebanese-French bilateral ties.       

Berri later received a cable from the Iranian vice President, Mohammed Reza Rahimi, who hoped herein that his fresh visit to Lebanon would be a new turning point to enhance and develop the Lebanese-Iranian fraternal relations.
