Former Speaker Hussein al-Husseini confirmed the president’s right to call for conducting a popular referendum concerning the electoral law, explaining that the parliament has lost the popular legitimacy.
He also added that the 1960s electoral law does not exist in accordance with a constitutional law issued in the late 1990s.
