REPORT: MP Kanaan says extension of parliament’s mandate will be addressed democratically
Change and Reform bloc MP Ibrahim Kanaan said on Wednesday that the extension of the parliament’s mandate, if happened tomorrow, will be addressed democratically.

Kanaan’s comments were made following the meeting held between a delegation of the Free patriotic Movement with prime Minister Saad Hariri at the Grand Serail.

Kanaan also reiterated that any "technical" extension for the Parliament should be linked with an agreement on a new vote law and the preparations for the parliamentary elections.

This as the delegation met with Hezbollah Vice Secretary General Sheikh Naim Qassem whereby Kanaan asserted that disagreement is not between Lebanon’s sects, reiterating total rejection to the vacuum.

He also voiced hopes that ongoing contacts will result in finding a solution for the crisis.

The FPM delegation has started its tour on Lebanese officials with a meeting held with Maronite Patriarch Bechara Rai in Bkerke.
