REPORT: Bednayel bids farewell to victim of Zahle night club shooting

The Baalbek town of Bednayel bid on Monday farewell to Sarah Sleiman, the victim of the shooting that took place outside a night club in Zahle on Sunday dawn.

The Imam of the town’s mosque Sheikh Abid Haydar called on President Michel Aoun, Speaker Nabih Berri and Prime Minister Saad Hariri "to save the region from the wanted and fugitives that are tempering with the region's security."

After the funeral, the residents of the town held a sit-in at the intersection of the International road in Bednayel, calling on the security apparatuses to assume their duties.

Sarah Sleiman (24 years old) succumbed to wounds she sustained in her face following a shooting outside a night club in the Bekaa town of Zahle.

Another Lebanese citizen identified as Simon Mouawad (33 years old) was injured in his leg during the shooting.

The incident took place on Sunday dawn at 3:00 AM when Sarah was leaving the night club with her friends.

The shooter, identified as Qassem al- Masri and known as Taha al-Masri, was riding his Tahoe Jeep near the night club and got into a scuffle with someone.

He started to shoot randomly at the night club, injuring Simon and Sarah.
