Speaker Nabih Berri received on Tuesday the head of the Syrian Social Nationalist Party Ali Qanso in Ain el-Tineh.
Discussions featured high over the latest developments, mainly the deployed efforts in order to agree on a new vote law.
Following the meeting, Qanso said that the ongoing deliberations over the electoral law are “promising,” adding that there are some points of differences that he voiced hopes that they would be solved soon.
He also urged on President Michel Aoun and Prime Minister Saad Hariri to issue a decree calling for the opening of an extraordinary parliamentary session.
“We are optimist that this decree will be issued and that we will have a new vote law before June 19,” he added.
