Trump says wants new Fed chief to be 'totally independent'

U.S. President Donald Trump said Friday he wanted new Federal Reserve chair Kevin Warsh to be fully independent -- before urging the central bank head at his swearing-in to let the economy "boom."

"I want Kevin to be totally independent. I want him to be independent and just do a great job," Trump said at the White House. "Don't look at me, don't look at anybody, just do your own thing."
