REPORT: Mashnouq calls for reinstatement of death penalty

Minister of Interior Nouhad Mashnouq greeted on Friday the Internal Security Forces at a ceremony held on the occasion of the Internal Security Forces' Founding Anniversary celebrated at Brigadier in Dbayeh.

Addressing ISF members, Mashnouq said "I salute your sacrifices which made the Internal Security Forces vigilant in implementing the laws, establishing peace and safeguarding the rights of the Lebanese citizens.”

Representing President Michel Aoun, Mashnouq called for the "re-enactment of the death penalty, mainly in cases of premeditated murder," in reference to the murder of Roy al-Hamouch.

"I will do everything I can to protect the citizens' right to security," he said.
