President Michel Aoun declared Monday that agreement has been reached with his Cypriot counterpart to unite the efforts to fight terrorism, stressing the need to liberalize the conditions of entry of Lebanese agricultural and industrial products into the Cypriot markets.
Aoun’s remarks came following his meeting with Cypriot President Nicos Anastasiades at Baabda presidential palace.
In turn, the Cypriot president stressed that his country will continue supporting Lebanon in lifting off the challenges faced due to the Syrian refugee crisis.
He added that the bilateral relations go beyond the geographical aspect, noting that they are deeply rooted by the close ties between the peoples, which go back to the Phoenicians.
The Cypriot President had arrived earlier in the day to Baabda presidential palace, where he was welcomed by President Aoun in an official reception ceremony.
