Minister Ogassapian to LBCI: A quota for women’s representation in new vote law is a must

State Minister for Women Affairs Jean Ogassapian expressed on Wednesday his surprise for not agreeing on a quota for women’s representation in the new vote law.

Ogassapian’s comments were made during a phone call with Nharkom Said TV show whereby he said that he will suggest adding an article in the new electoral law that guarantees the presence of a female candidate on each electoral list.

He also noted that all ministers received on Tuesday night a draft of the agreed new vote law.
