The residents of Hermel have been suffering from the effects of the increasing pollution in al-Assi River, calling for clean water supply for everyday use, especially at touristic restaurants and coffee shops.
A project has been contracted to supply drinking water from mountains, all the way to the restaurants area, crossing a distance of 11 kilometers. The Euro 16,000 project did not benefit the residents, since it was not executed by the standards. Even the area’s federation of municipalities had some comments about it.
