How did Lebanon celebrate the 70th anniversary of the National Museum?
Entertaining and educational shows were held in the National Museum, including moving and speaking puppets and a storyteller who spreads life as he speaks. These shows were held on the occasion of celebrating the 70th anniversary of the establishment of the National Museum, with the participation of the Culture Minister Gaby Layyoun, a number of associations and bodies as well as school students from different Lebanese regions.

In his speech, Culture minister confirmed that history does not lie inside the museum because it is engraved, while history can lie on paper.

Layyoun pointed that the Lebanese National Museum may not be among the biggest museums in the world, but its features make it among the greatest ones, because it stood in very difficult circumstances during the black phase of our modern history, even the last war that Lebanon went through, left its prints in this Museum.

Layyoun hoped that Lebanese media would give the National Museum the importance it deserves, especially that parts of Lebanon’s history are inside it.
