REPORT: Beirut Yoga Festival’s 4th edition takes place despite objections

“Khod Nafas” (Take a breath), the 4th edition of Beirut Yoga Festival in the heart of Beirut, took place on Saturday at the Beirut Hippodrome.

The event aims at celebrating health and wellbeing while joining a group of international and local yoga and meditation teachers, speakers, and healers for a mindful and uplifting experience.

This event comes as a debate was raised over the practice of Yoga.

In this regard, the Catholic Information Center issued a statement, whereby it warned against the danger of practicing any Eastern Asian meditation technique and integrating it with Christian meditation. The statement added that “the Church calls on believers to avoid practicing Yoga and any related techniques.”
