REPORT: Hariri visits Vatican, meets Pope Francis

Pope Francis met on Friday with Prime Minister Saad Hariri and his family at the Vatican.

Hariri was accompanied by his wife Lara, his children, head of his bureau Nader Hariri and his advisor Daoud al-Sayegh.

Following the meeting, Hariri noted that talks stressed importance of coexistence in Lebanon, adding that he invited Pope Francis to visit Beirut.

“We want to preserve agreement among all Lebanese people in order to drive Lebanon towards stability and security,” Hariri added.

On another note, he stressed that the Syrian refugee crisis was tackled during the meeting, adding that Pope Francis voiced readiness to examine the issue.
