President Aoun wants to communicate with Hariri before deciding over resignation

President Michel Aoun continued on Wednesday its consultative meetings for the second day in a row following Prime Minister Saad Hariri’s surprise resignation.

This as sources at the Baabda Presidential Palace stressed that Aoun had notified all political sides that he will make a decision on Hariri’s resignation, mainly that the resignation was not in line with the norms.

Aoun stressed during the deliberations that the country’s security, financial and economic situation is stable.

He also noted that he wants to communicate with Hariri to know the real reasons behind his resignation.

“The presidency still considers Hariri as the prime minister.” He added.
