REPORT: Speaker Berri says Hariri’s government still exists

Speaker Nabih Berri said on Wednesday that the Lebanese people have long be able to overcome all obstacles through their unity.

Berri’s comments were made during his weekly meeting with MPs in Ain el-Tineh whereby he noted that the current phase requires from everybody to cement ranks in order to preserve unity.”

He also stressed that the government still exists, adding that Prime Minister Saad Hariri’s resignation in this manner will not change its description.’

This as Berri’s visitors quoted him as saying that he awaits Hariri’s return to confirm the resignation, or else it will not be considered valid.”

“When he resigns according to the norms, the deliberations to name a new PM will take place,” he was also quoted as saying.
