Jraissati: No final agreement reached on issue of EDL contract workers

Labor Minister Salim Jraissati confirmed on Tuesday that no final agreement has yet been reached on the issue of EDL contract workers and collectors.

“Recent parliamentarian committees’ meetings led to the formation of a commission tasked with following up on this case within a 10-day deadline,” he told Voice of Lebanon radio station.

Jraissati stressed that “everyone came to the conclusion that a solution should be reached ‘at steady pace’, after it turned out that protests are useless.”

In his concluding remarks, the minister of labor pointed out that tenure will be limited to the most competent workers.
