Child sexual abuse once again in Ministry of Social Affairs
The Minister of Social Affairs Wael Abou Faour called on Tuesday on all the institutions and all the schools to “wake up” and not to cover up cases of sexual abuse just to protect the institution’s reputation.

After presiding over the meeting held by the Higher Council for Childhood, Abou Faour thanked the media for the efforts exerted in order to spread awareness and expose the case, calling on the media not to violate the institutions and families’ privacies.

Abou Faour said that what happened recently in Tripoli, referring to involving children in armed clashes, is very dangerous.

Relatively, the committees for Women, Children and Human Rights held a joint meeting to discuss the issue of sexual abuse in the Parliament.

The president of Human Rights committee, Michel Moussa stressed, during the meeting, the necessity of protecting the “accidents’ revealers”, protecting children and maintaining the confidentiality of the investigations in order to encourage people to report such cases.
