President Aoun: No one can stop the holding of parliamentary elections

President Michel Aoun asserted on Monday that Lebanon took a decision to defend its territories in case of any Israeli aggression.

Aoun also noted that the country does not care about any Israeli provocations, adding however that if these provocations entered into force there will be new wars.

“I rule out Israel's implementation of its threats,” he added.

President Aoun stressed that Israel since its creation is threatening all its neighboring countries.

On another note, Aoun said that the new electoral law will allow the representation of the majorities and the minorities and will truly express the will of the Lebanese people.

“No one can stop the holding of the parliamentary elections or create any crisis that might hinder them,” he added.

As for the Syrian refugee crisis, Aoun noted that the economic burdens on Lebanon increased, adding that the country is trying to elevate these burdens through the UN and International support.

Aoun concluded by saying that the security forces are in full control over the security situation in the country, noting that the number of ordinary crimes is increasing.

“There is no permanent and comprehensive security threats against our country,” he added.
