REPORT: Nasrallah says Lebanon's only strength in the oil and gas battle is the resistance

Hezbollah Secretary General Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah delivered on Friday a televised speech.

During his speech, Nasrallah said that the oil wealth in south Lebanon belongs to all Lebanese people.

“The main reason behind the current conflict is not the territorial border, it is the maritime border,” he added.

“A Lebanese unified stance is the most important factor to win this battle,” Nasrallah noted.

He also stressed that Lebanon’s rights are only determined by the Lebanese state and its institutions.

“The state should deal with this file from a position of strength,” Nasrallah added.

Nasrallah addressed the Lebanese people by saying that “Lebanon's only strength in this oil and gas battle is the resistance.”

He also noted that the US do not seek to preserve Lebanon’s interests, but want to achieve Israel’s interests.

Israeli-Lebanese tensions have spiked in recent months because of Israeli plans to build a wall at the border, and because of Lebanon's decision to begin exploring for oil and gas in an offshore block in disputed waters.
