[PHOTOS] Body of Filipina maid arrives in Manila
The body of a Filipino maid found dead inside a freezer in Kuwait arrived in Manila on Friday (February 16), days after Philippine President Rodrigo Duterte ordered a worker deployment ban to the Middle Eastern country.

Philippine President Rodrigo Duterte on Tuesday (February 13) ordered the evacuation of the country's more than 10,000 foreign workers there after news of Joanna Demafelis' death triggered outrage from the government.

Foreign Minister Alan Cayetano said Kuwait has vowed to resolve the Filipino maid's death and agreed to discuss measures for Filipinos to complain about abuse and labor concerns to the government.

Kuwait's Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Sabah al-Khalid al-Sabah previously condemned Duterte's ban, suggesting it could damage ties between the two countries.

More than 2,000 Filipinos have flown back to the Philippines. Demafelis' body will be transported to her family's home in the central Philippines on Saturday (February 17).
