Helou to LBCI: Public service should not be targeted by the law
Change and Reform bloc MP Michel Helou said on Saturday that the presidency of MP Mohammad Qabbani over the subcommittee was in contravention of the law and customs, accusing Qabbani of carrying out constitutional violations.

Helou told Nharkom Said TV Show that he called for setting a ceiling for the number of contract workers and collectors at the Electricité du Liban, wondering whether the EDL is capable of granting tenure to thousands of workers especially since the sector is heading towards privatization.

Helou confirmed that public services should not be targeted by the law.

“Declarations that the Change and Reform bloc works against the interest and rights of the EDL workers are untrue”, he stressed.

Helou confirmed that the positions of the FPM stem from self-conviction, adding that the memo of understanding between the FPM and Hezbollah does not require that the movement rescind its coordination positions since “each party has its own priorities.”
