Foreign Minister Gebran Bassil called on UNRWA to eliminate from its records any Palestinian refugee who leaves the Lebanese territories, or in case they obtained the citizenship of any other country, so that it lessens its financial burden and to reduce the numbers of the refugees in Lebanon without affecting their right to return to their country.
During the a ministerial emergency conference to support UNRWA, Bassil also called on the International Community to organize the campaign for the voluntary return of the Palestinian refugees given that all the elements of safe and dignified return are available in the Palestinian case.
