Finance Minister Ali Hassan Khalil said Tuesday that Lebanon can no longer bear the policies that contributed in placing the country in the ranks of states ranking high in corruption and waste.
He stressed commitment to finalizing all financial accounts within given deadlines.
During his participation in the launching of the new state budget 2018, which is subject to discussion by the public opinion for the first time in Lebanon, Hassan Khalil noted that “they are on the verge of finalizing the final report and all the truths of the past stage will be uncovered.”
This step comes within the framework of allowing the public to discuss and give their opinion about the government’s social and economic priorities, as well as the aspects of expenditures, ways of funding and their role in accountability.
