REPORT: BDL Governor to LBCI: Financial markets anticipate results of elections

Governor of Banque Du Liban Riyad Salameh said on Friday that financial markets are waiting for the results of the parliamentary elections and for the government that will be formed after the polls.

Salameh’s comments were made to LBCI whereby he said that this anticipation is based on the decisions of the Cedre conference and the ability of the new Lebanese government and parliament to implement the reforms and projects agreed on during the conference.

Salameh concluded by stressing that the Lebanese Lira is stable, adding that there are no changes in the local exchange market.
