Sources from the Baabda presidential palace said that President Michel Aoun and Prime Minister Saad Hariri discussed during their meeting the situation related to the upcoming cabinet, adding that they agreed to leave the matter until after the parliamentary consultations and the appointment of the new PM.
The sources stated that Aoun and Hariri evaluated the electoral process and its results, and tackled the possibility of holding one or two cabinet sessions before the government becomes resigning on May 21.
In Ain al-Tineh, sources said that Hariri agreed with Speaker Nabih Berri over the need to clear the political atmosphere and to facilitate the formation of the new cabinet without any obstacles.
The sources revealed that during the meeting with Hariri, Berri reiterated that the Finance Ministry must be kept with the Shiite sect and to appoint Ali Hassan Khalil as the minister.
