Jumblatt: Morsy faces great challenges to install foundations of democracy

National Struggle Front leader MP Walid Jumblatt told Al-Anbaa Daily on Monday that Egypt is gradually moving consolidating the achievements of the historic revolution that ousted dictatorship and repression and paved the way for a new political era. This change stemmed from the determination of the Egyptian people not to give up their democratic rights and their quest to get rid of all the hardships caused by the former regime, according to Jumblatt.

In his weekly statement to the newspaper, Jumblatt said that the Egyptian public institutions, mainly the Egyptian Judiciary, have presented a new proof of their originality, durability and support to justice, away from political and sectarian whims and disputes.

Jumblatt stressed that the new Egyptian president will face great political challenges in order to install the foundations of the emerging democratic regime, expand political participation and dissipate the fears of those who are suspicious of this victory.
