President Michel Aoun declared that the adoption of the Jewish national-state law is a new Israeli aggression against the Palestinians and their right to decide their own destiny and to have an independent country with Jerusalem as capital and restore their lands.
The president added that this law which prohibits Palestinian diaspora from returning to their homeland and opens up the door to more immigration for the Jews, is a violation to UN resolutions that affirm the Palestinians’ right to return to their country, mainly the resolution 194.
Aoun called on the Palestinian people to unite and leave their political differences behind to confront this existential aggression launched against them.
“Isn’t it time to achieve Arab solidarity to stand in the face of Israel’s practices against the Palestinian entity,” he asked.
The president emphasized that the international silence over Israel’s attempts to eliminate the Palestinian existence makes it urgent for the Arab World to reach solidarity against injustice.
