Azour to LBCI: Lebanon is well aware of the cost of a civil war

Former Finance Minister Jihad Azour called on the state to impose its authority and use diplomatic means to put an end to Syrian violations along the shared borders with Lebanon.

Azour told Nharkom Said on Monday that the Lebanese do not want to import the Syrian crisis to Lebanon, adding that Lebanon is well aware of the cost of a civil war. Azour said that the Lebanese political leaders must be at the forefront and seek to protect civil peace.

Azour considered that it would be wrong to grant tenure to all contract workers at Electricité du Liban (EDL) without any tests, stressing that politics intrude in all sectors in Lebanon.
