Civil servants protest failure to pass pay scale

Ministry of Information’s contract workers staged a sit-in on Tuesday outside the ministry's main gate in Sanayeh-Hamra in compliance with the Syndical Cooperation Committee’s decision.

The Syndical Cooperation Committee called on civil servants to stop working from 9:00 till 12:00 noon.

Meanwhile, civil servants in Aley and Akkar also staged a sit-in upon the request of the Syndical Cooperation Committee.

This move comes in the wake of the Parliament's failure to endorse the public sector's pay scale.
