Aoun meets new UN head in Baabda

President Michel Aoun met on Thursday with the new head of the United Nations Interim Forces in Lebanon (UNIFIL) Maj. Gen. Stefano Del Col at the Baabda palace.

During the meeting, Aoun stressed the country’s readiness to provide anything that would make the peacekeepers’ mission in preserving the security and stability of south Lebanon in a success and the implementation of UN resolution 1701.

Aoun also stressed that the peacekeepers’ mandate and scope of operations must not be amended.
