Preparations for the Pope’s visit to Lebanon kicks off
Pope Benedict XVI will be visiting Lebanon on the 14th of September, under the slogan: “My peace I give you”.

This visit, which will last for two days and a half, is not meant only for Lebanon, but for the whole region, the papal ambassador Gabriel Katchea said.

In turn, the Maronite Bishop of Beirut Boulos Matar said, during a press conference held in the Catholic Information Center, that the Pope’s visit comes on the     occasion of signing the Post-Synodal Apostolic Exhortation for the Middle East.

For his part, Father Marwan Tabet stressed that the Lebanese media’s transportations are set with the delegation accompanying the Pope.

Bishop Kamil Zaydan warned against any collect of money for the visit, stressing that the visit’s expenses are covered by the State and the Church.

In this context, Father Abdo Abou Kasm called on whoever wants to escort the Pope in the plane from the Vatican to Lebanon to fill in an application, noting that the approval will be sent from the Vatican.
